Cynthia reports:  I don't know if you saw the paper on January 1.  There was a story about a miracle that took place on Christmas Day. Since I know you believe in miracles, I wanted to share the story with you. There is a short version on the Episcopal Church website with a link to the Post and Courier.  Dorothy wanted no publicity, but the story got out anyway.  As one of my friends later told me, the Holy Spirit is also present in the telling.  Even the P & C called it a miracle. We are truly blessed by God's interventions in our lives. Jeanie reports: Life in Alpharetta is busy right know!  When you own Pizza Restaurants - there is no quite time! Jeanie Karnaze Smiths Smith

Carl reports: Daughter Ashleigh is in Arizona and son Lt.JG Carl, Jr., is in Washington state. They will be home for Christmas. Ashleigh is working on a second masters and then maybe Ph.D. in English and History to teach in college somewhere. Carl, Jr., received his "Wings of Gold" and is stationed with the Navy in Whidbey Island, WA, in the Puget Sound. He'll be flying the EA-6 Prowler jet, a four-seater which jams radar and knocks out the missile and anti-aircraft defenses. They'll move up to the FA-18G in three years. It goes in on the combat mission before the fighters--the first off of the carrier. He qualified on the carrier USS Roosevelt in Sept. for the FA-18 HornetE/F fighter jet but his commander and XO needed him to fly the Prowler because that's what they flew. God is in control so we'll let Him sort out that. It is near Oak Harbor, and I noticed the e-mail about Andrea Bogen Rose. Is she near him?

Oh. Ashleigh and I backpacked (tent, stove, dehydrated food, water tablets, etc.) Georgia, Tenn. and N.C. segments of the Appalachian Trail this past Summer--I did over one hundred miles and she did over two hundred miles. I turned sixty on the trail, so I felt pretty good about my conditioning. It was not easy, though. We did a week at a time. Gelene took us and picked us up along the way. What a great father-daughter "bonding" opportunity. We may go again next summer. Merry Christmas, Carl Ellsworth

Del reports:
It's 5:40 am here in Sunny St. Pete and the weatherman just said it's 70 degrees and the high will be 82. That's why we live here!!  Have a great Christmas.  Were kicking our holiday season with a party next Friday (8th) for 150 of our closest friends!! If they all come at one time we are in big trouble. You know how it starts, if you invite this one then you have to invite that one.  My son and I are black belts in Tae Kwon Do and our school is such a tight knit group, you can't not invite a couple without inviting the other BB, we would like to invite 5- 6 but it ends up being 20. Then it's all the guys I play golf with. My wife thinks I'm nuts, maybe I am!  xxoo -- Del Goforth

Honey reports: Great to hear from you.  Sorry, I have no real news! I was wondering what happened to Diane Meadows...? My mother used to see her mother and father years ago.  Mother is at the Presbyterian Home now. She is 90 years old. Honey Kropp Florence
